Knockhill provided the perfect venue for Jonathan to clinch the seat Cupra 2007/8 season championship, and he didn''t let down his family and many fans with an impressive win in the first race to clinch the title. In the second race, Jonathan was demoted to third on the grid after a speeding infringement in qualifying. On the first lap Jonathan managed to take second place and soon caught the leader. However, despite constantly pressuring the leader he was unable to get past and had to settle for second place and another podium finish.  It was in the final meeting at Thruxton that Jonathan was officially crowned 2007 Blaupunkt seat Cupra champion.
